The Brighton Catholic Parish is a well-established, active and welcoming parish located on the southern suburban beaches of Adelaide.

Our Parish Priest, Monsignor Ian Dempsey plays an integral part in the life of our school. He celebrates with us in nurturing St Teresa’s to be the best Catholic school and supports all parish and school initiatives. Monsignor Dempsey values the educational journey of our young people and provides support and encouragement to all in our community.

Monsignor Dempsey has been instrumental in developing parish and school links and continues to work with the Principal, parish and school staff and the parish and school communities to achieve the Mission of the Church.

St Teresa’s APRIM works very closely with the Pastoral Associate, APRIMS in the south-west region and the Parish Team to continue to build the bridges in a pastoral and inclusive manner, always modelling the values of the gospel and upholding the traditions of our church.

Monsignor ensures that he is present and participates in school events, parish based sacramental programs and celebrations, class and team masses, team meetings and many parish and school gatherings.

St Teresa’s School is also blessed with the involvement of the Sisters of Mercy who have a great presence and involvement in our school.

We believe that it is a privilege to work in partnership with families in nurturing our Catholic tradition and assist their children to reach their fullest potential – socially, emotionally spiritually and academically.

Pastoral care and outreach to the local community are key elements of our parish. Besides the parish schools, there are over thirty groups active in the parish.

The Parish Priest plays an integral pastoral care role in the life of St Teresa's.
